Homemade Parmesan Crisps are deliciously light, crisp and flavorful… and made with just ONE ingredient! The perfect salad topper or quick & easy snack!
If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE a good salad. From Wedge Salad to Greek Salad to Strawberry Spinach Salad, I’ve rarely met a salad I didn’t devour. But. I do have a few rules.
Namely… extra dressing and no croutons! Extra dressing because obviously every salad is better with extra dressing, and no croutons because MOST croutons just aren’t worth it. Now, I do make exceptions. For homemade croutons or cornbread croutons or anything a little out of the ordinary. And I ALWAYS make an exception for parmesan crisps.
I know, I know… parmesan crisps aren’t actually croutons. But they’re close enough! And when you add them to Caesar Salad, they’re a delicious alternative that adds tons of flavor without adding any carbs.
Of course, they’re not just for caesar salads. These parmesan crisps are a delicious addition to any of your favorite salads or soups… and they’re equally delicious as a simple snack!
what you’ll need for this recipe
Parmesan cheese – A wedge of Parmesan cheese is all you actually need for this recipe. Substitute Asiago, Manchego, or Pecorino Romano.
Optional seasonings – Add any type of seasonings you’d like! A few of my favorites are everything bagel seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, or salt & pepper.
Tips for Success
Use freshly shredded parmesan.
Use finely shredded parmesan.
Mound the cheese before baking.
Add seasonings before baking, not after.
Watch closely to prevent burning.

Parmesan Crisps can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy on top of salads, soups, or as a grab & go snack!

Parmesan Crisps
Ingredients
- 1 cup parmesan cheese finely shredded
- Seasonings: garlic powder, Italian seasoning, everything bagel seasoning, smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Drop grated parmesan by the rounded teaspoonful onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Be sure cheese is slightly packed and mounded.
- Bake at 400° for about 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
