Ingredients
- 6 jalapeño peppers
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 3/4 cup shredded cheese (I used colby jack)
- 4 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 Tablespoon panko bread crumbs
Instructions
Prepare the jalapeños – cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise. (For less heat, remove the seeds and membranes.)
Prepare the filling – in a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and garlic salt and mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
Assemble the poppers – divide the cream cheese mixture evenly among the pepper halves. Sprinkle additional cheese on top. Top with crumbled bacon and panko bread crumbs.
Air fry – place the poppers in the air fryer basket and air fry at 350° F for 5 minutes, until cheese is melted. Top with sliced green onions and serve with ranch dressing.
Recipe variations
- Leave some seeds in the jalapeños for more spice
- Use flavored cream cheese such as jalapeño, garden vegetable, or chive & onion
- Add cayenne pepper, chipotle chili powder, onion powder, or any of your favorite seasonings to the cream cheese mixture
- Add 4 pieces chopped, cooked bacon in the cream cheese mixture
- Substitute cooked, crumbled sausage for the bacon
- Add extra panko bread crumbs for more crunch
