All you need is 6 ingredients, 15 minutes, and a little bit of patience… and this Reindeer Bark comes together beautifully every time. It’s the perfect addition to any cookie plate and makes a memorable gift, as well. In other words, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a huge hit this holiday season!
Ingredients needed
White chocolate candy coating – I used white chocolate candy coating, often known by the brand name Candiquik, as the base of this bark. I prefer this type of white chocolate over white chocolate chips because it’s made for melting and much easier to work with than chips. If you decide to use white chocolate chips, be sure to melt them over low heat and stir regularly to prevent over-heating.
Mini Twix – Mini Twix bars make the perfect reindeer head, and should be available in the candy aisle at any grocery store. (See below for substitution ideas.)
Mini pretzels – Itty Bitty Mini Pretzels are the ideal size for the reindeer antlers – no cutting or breaking required! I used Snyder’s brand, but you may be able to find this size in other brands as well.
Candy eyeballs – Candy eyeballs can be found in the baking aisle at your local grocery or craft store. There may be different sizes available, but you’ll want to choose ones that are about 1 centimeter in diameter.
Mini m&m’s – I used red mini m&m’s for the reindeer nose. You could also mix it up and use any color OR see below for other substitution ideas.
Sprinkles – Finally, any type of holiday sprinkles are the perfect finishing touch!
How to make White Chocolate Reindeer Bark
Gather & prep the ingredients – Before you begin making the bark, you’ll want to gather and prep all your ingredients. This includes sorting out the red m&m’s, collecting whole (unbroken) pretzels, and unwrapping the Twix candies.
Melt the white chocolate – The next step is melting the white chocolate. Start by chopping the block into smaller squares, then place it in a microwave safe bowl. Melt over medium heat, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent scorching.
Spread the chocolate – Once the chocolate is fully melted, spread it evenly onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax paper. *Reserve about 1 Tablespoon for assembling the bark. The thickness is a matter of personal preference, but 1/8 – 1/4 inch is a good range.
Assemble the bark – Let the chocolate cool for about 2 minutes, then arrange the Twix and pretzels to form reindeer heads, being sure to leave some space in between for cutting. Once the heads are assembled, sprinkle the white chocolate with colored sprinkles. Finally, stick the candy eyeballs and noses to the Twix bars using a toothpick dipped in reserved melted white chocolate.
Cool & cut – Set aside to cool completely
