Turn your favorite sandwich filling into a delicious dip! This creamy Tuna Dip is packed with amazing lemon dill flavor and perfect for dipping crackers, pretzels, veggies, and more!
The truth is you can’t go wrong with tuna. Not only because it’s high in protein, low in fat, and relatively inexpensive (all things considered)… but also because it’s literally always available. And easy to keep on hand! Meaning you always have the makings of a delicious tuna salad, tuna melt, or tuna casserole… right in your pantry.
Our latest favorite way to use tuna? In this deliciously creamy dip. Loaded with baby pickles, red onion, dijon mustard, and fresh dill, this Tuna Dip is easy to make and surprisingly addictive.
And it’s also easy to customize according to your tastes! Add extra veggies, swap out the mayo, make it spicy, or even go crazy and add some crumbled feta. The possibilities are endless. But the dip? Well… the dip will go quickly!
what you’ll need for this recipe
- Tuna – Tuna is the primary ingredient in this recipe, and choosing a high quality tuna is key. For best results, choose albacore, skipjack, or yellowfin tuna packed in water. You can also use fresh tuna if you prefer.
- Mayo – Mayo gives this dip a deliciously creamy, dippable consistency. I used 1/4 cup Hellman’s mayo, but you can use any brand you like.
- Pickles – Chopped dill pickles add tons of flavor and crunch to this dip. I used baby dill pickles.
- Red onion – Minced red onion pairs well with the pickles and gives this recipe a little more of a bite.
- Fresh dill – Fresh dill brings out even more of the dill flavor from the pickles
- Lemon juice – Lemon juice brightens up the flavors in this dip and balances out the creaminess of the mayo. Feel free to use bottled or fresh.
- Dijon – Dijon mustard adds delicious flavor and rounds out the flavor of the mayonnaise. Substitute yellow, spicy brown, or whole grain.
- Salt & pepper – A little bit of salt and pepper is all you need to finish off this recipe. I added 1/4 teaspoon each (add more or less to taste).
