All your favorite Greek flavors in a deliciously hearty bowl! These Greek Bowls are packed with cucumbers, tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and seasoned ground beef… and a healthy dose of homemade tzatziki sauce takes them to the next level!
Move over, Greek Salad. There’s a new dinner on my radar… and this Greek Bowl is it! Don’t get me wrong… I love Greek Salad as much as the next person. And honestly? This Greek Bowl recipe isn’t too far off. But there are a few key differences that make this clearly NOT a salad.
For one, there’s no lettuce (although you can feel free to add some if you’d like.) And no lettuce means more of everything else! More meat, more veggies, more cheese… you get the picture. Which makes it extra hearty and satisfying.
Second, there’s no vinaigrette dressing (although this Lemon Vinaigrette would be a delicious addition!) Instead, there’s tzatziki sauce, which is delightfully creamy, tangy, and flavorful… and the perfect addition to this recipe.
And finally, it’s perfect for meal prep (something you can’t really say about salad.) The ingredients hold up well in the fridge and will still be equally delicious throughout the week!
what you’ll need for this recipe
Ground beef – 1 pound of lean ground beef. I used lean meat (96% or 93%) because it doesn’t require draining, so you don’t lose the flavor of the seasonings. Substitute a fattier meat if you prefer, and drain before adding the seasonings.
Seasonings – 4 minced garlic cloves, 1 Tablespoon Greek seasoning, and 1 teaspoon salt adds just the right amount of delicious flavor to the ground beef. Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a delicious twist.
Vegetables – Cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion are vegetables commonly used in Greek cuisine. Add green bell pepper or any of your favorite veggies.
Olives – Kalamata olives are bold, intensely flavored Greek olives that add a ton of flavor to this dish. Substitute another type of olives OR capers if you prefer.
Feta – Feta cheese is a Greek cheese that’s salty and tangy with a sharp, distinct flavor. Use chunk or crumbled feta or substitute another Greek cheese.
Tzatziki – Tzatziki is a creamy sauce made with Greek yogurt, cucumbers, lemon, garlic & dill. You can find it in the deli or near the dips at your local grocery store OR make your own homemade tzatziki!

how to make Greek Bowls
Chop the veggies. Chop the cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, and olives. Set aside.
Brown the meat. In a large skillet, heat 1 Tablespoon olive oil. Add ground beef, minced garlic, Greek seasoning, and salt. Cook, crumbling with a spatula, until meat is no longer pink.
Assemble the bowls. Divide the meat and vegetables evenly among 4 bowls. Top with tzatziki, fresh dill, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with pita bread.
storage tips
These bowls (and the separate ingredients) keep well in the fridge. Simply cover with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate 3-4 days. Enjoy cold or at room temperature – it’s delicious both ways. You can also reheat the meat (separately) if you prefer.
