Garlic Yogurt Sauce

Take your favorite dishes to the next level with this Creamy Garlic Yogurt Sauce! Made with a handful of ingredients and packed with amazing flavor… this sauce is delicious on pitas, kebabs, or roasted veggies!

Every now and then I have a taste for a very specific type of food. It’s not always the same type of food (it depends on the day) but it ALWAYS comes with a sauce.

Case in point: the roasted zucchini I made the other day. I had a specific vision in mind – I knew it needed fresh herbs and crumbled feta – and I KNEW it needed a deliciously creamy, flavorful sauce.

And let me tell you – this Garlic Yogurt Sauce was IT! Made with just a handful of ingredients, including plain Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, fresh garlic, and fresh herbs, it’s quick and easy and adds so much flavor to all your favorite dishes.

One tip I learned in the process of making it? Yogurt matters! For the best flavor and texture, I would definitely recommend using whole milk Greek yogurt. As always, feel free to use what works best for you!

what you’ll need for this recipe

Yogurt – Yogurt is the base of this recipe. I used 1 cup plain Greek yogurt. I would highly recommend using whole milk vs. low fat or fat free yogurt for the best flavor and texture.

Lemon juice – Lemon juice adds flavor, brightness, and balance to the sauce. It also helps to thin it out to a sauce-like consistency. I used 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice, but bottled also works.

Olive oil – Extra virgin olive oil adds additional flavor and richness to the sauce, balancing out the creaminess of the yogurt and the acidity of the lemon juice. I used 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil.

Garlic – Fresh minced garlic adds delicious flavor and is an essential ingredient in this sauce. I added 2 large cloves of minced garlic. Add more to taste!

Salt – Salt helps bring out the flavors in the other ingredients. I added 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt. Feel free to add more or less to taste.

Fresh herbs – Fresh herbs can be added directly to the sauce or used as a garnish on top. I used a combination of fresh mint and fresh dill.
