what you’ll love about this recipe
We LOVE this recipe because it’s so easy to make and requires only a handful of ingredients. It comes together in no time and feeds a crowd, which makes it perfect for game days. Plus it’s easy to keep warm in a crock pot all day long. We love serving the garnishes on the side so everyone can load theirs up according to preference!
what you’ll need for this recipe
Black Bean Chili – This recipe starts with a jar of Zoup! Black Bean Chili, which provides a delicious twist on traditional chili cheese dips. I love this chili because it’s made with clean ingredients and gives the dish a rich, smoky flavor.
Cream cheese – 8 ounces of cream cheese gives this dip a delicious creaminess that keeps you coming back for more. I used plain cream cheese, but you could substitute your favorite flavored variety if you prefer.
Cheddar Jack cheese – In addition to cream cheese, I also added 8 ounces of shredded cheddar jack to give the dip even more gooey, cheesy flavor. For most recipes I recommend shredding your own, but for this recipe pre-shredded will work just fine.
Black beans – An extra dose of black beans makes this dip even heartier and more delicious. I used one 15 ounce can of black beans, drained and rinsed.
Spices – For extra kick I added chili powder, cayenne, and dried minced onion. You could also add cumin, garlic powder, or smoked paprika for an extra flavor boost.
Garnishes – Garnishes are an optional, yet completely delicious addition to this dip. I used shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and cilantro. See “recipe variations” below for more ideas!
