Say hello to your new favorite condiment: Spicy Mayo! A delicious combination of creamy mayonnaise, spicy sriracha, and a touch of honey… it’s easy to make and delicious as a dipping sauce for any of your favorite foods!
Let’s talk about spicy mayo for a second. Why? Because it’s my absolute favorite! It’s like the new secret sauce… the one thing that makes everything better… and when I say everything, I mean everything!
If you’ve ever gone out for sushi, chances are you’ve had it as a sauce on one of your sushi rolls. And we absolutely love drizzling it on top of our favorite Sushi Bowls! But it’s not JUST for sushi. It also makes a delicious dip for french fries or onion rings, and it’s the perfect sauce these air fryer brussel sprouts. It’s the perfect combination of spicy, creamy, and sweet with a hint of nuttiness from the sesame oil.
And it’s also incredibly easy to make at home! All you need for this spicy mayo recipe is 4 simple ingredients: mayo, sriracha sauce, honey, and sesame oil. If I had to guess, you already have the first 3 ingredients at home. So go grab yourself a bottle of sesame oil… and voila!
what you’ll need for this recipe
Mayonnaise – This recipe calls for 1/4 cup of mayo. I used Hellman’s, which is typically my mayo of choice, but feel free to use Kewpie Mayonnaise (a popular Japanese mayo) or any of your favorite brands.
Sriracha – 2 teaspoons of sriracha is what gives this mayo a kick. I chose sriracha because it’s one of my favorite all around hot sauces and has great flavor, not just spice. It can be found in the Asian foods aisle at most grocery stores.
Honey – I added 1 teaspoon of honey to balance out the spicy kick of the sriracha sauce. Because if there’s anything better than spicy mayo… it’s spicy mayo with a hint of sweetness.
Sesame oil – Just a touch of sesame oil adds a TON of flavor to this recipe. A little bit goes a long way, so be sure to measure it out! (I used 1/2 teaspoon.)
