Unlike your typical pizza bagel, which is basically sauce, cheese, and toppings, these ones start with a layer of garlic butter. Which means you get all the flavors of garlic bread AND all the flavors of pizza in one delicious bite.

If the ingredients look a little different than what you’d typically expect, that’s because these aren’t just ordinary pizza bagels. They’re pizza bagels with a garlic bread twist… and they’re absolutely amazing. And when you top them with HORMEL® Pepperoni Cup n’ Crisp? They’re even more crispy, flavorful, and delicious!
- 4 plain bagels
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup pizza sauce
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package HORMEL® Pepperoni Cup n’ Crisp

I love how easy these are to make. They’re the perfect recipe to have the kids help with, and since they’re ready in under 20 minutes, they’re ideal for busy weeknights!
Separate the bagels – split the bagels in half and lay them out on a baking sheet.
Make the garlic butter – in a small bowl, combine softened butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well.
Layer on the toppings – layer the toppings onto the bagels in the following order: garlic butter, pizza sauce, shredded cheese, HORMEL® Pepperoni Cup n’ Crisp.
Bake to perfection – bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is completely melted. Remove from oven and garnish with additional Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes.

When it comes to pizza, the topping possibilities are endless. My kids loved the simplicity of pepperoni & cheese (their favorite) but you can feel free to mix things up any way you’d like. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Use any of your favorite bagel flavors
- Add additional toppings, including veggies, black olives, fresh basil, or any of your favorites
- Use a combination of mozzarella and provolone cheese OR an Italian cheese blend
- Omit the garlic butter for a more traditional recipe
- Omit the pizza sauce for a less traditional recipe
- Use a combination of mozzarella and provolone cheese OR an Italian cheese blend
- Place pizza bagels under the broiler for an additional 2 minutes for more crispiness
♨️ Storing & reheating
Leftovers can be stored, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To reheat, transfer them to a baking sheet and heat in the oven at 350° for 10 minutes.
📍 Tips for success
- Use large bagels for more surface area
- Shred your own cheese for maximum melt
- For maximum cupping, don’t overlap the pepperoni
- For maximum crisp, bake at 375° or higher. If you’d like your pepperoni even crispier, stick the pizzas under the broiler for a couple minutes after baking.
