Bring back the flavors of childhood with this delicious Orange Creamsicle Cocktail! A simple combination of whipped cream vodka, Grand Marnier, orange juice, and half & half, it’s a nostalgic flavor combination that’s 100% adult approved!

I’m convinced it’s impossible to hear the words “orange creamsicle” and not be automatically transported back to childhood. I mean, who didn’t LOVE orange creamsicle popsicle treats or orange cream ice cream? Especially as a kid!?

Well, this Creamsicle Cocktail tastes just like both… only it’s for adults, not kids. It’s a grown up creamsicle, if you will. The perfect drink for holidays, nights with friends, or anytime you’re feeling a little bit nostalgic.

It’s along the same lines as my Orange Creamsicle Mimosa and my Orange Creamsicle Circus Animal Cookies. Because adults deserve to have fun, too!

What You’ll Love About This Recipe

Easy: Made with just 4 ingredients, this drink is easy to make and ready in minutes!

Fun: Creamsicle is such a fun combination that’s reminiscent of childhood and creamsicle popsicles!

Delicious: Vanilla + orange is a delicious flavor profile that’s hard NOT to love!

what you’ll need for this recipe

Whipped vodka – I used 2 ounces whipped vodka as the base for this cocktail. If you’re not familiar with whipped vodka, it’s a whipped cream flavored vodka made by Smirnoff, Pinnacle, and a few other brands. It has a similar flavor to vanilla vodka, but is a bit sweeter and smoother. If you can’t find it, vanilla is a good substitute.

Orange liqueur – Orange Liqueur adds a delicious pop of orange flavor to this drink. I used 1 ounce Grand Marnier, but you could substitute Cointreau or Triple Sec.

Orange juice – In addition to the orange liqueur, I also added 1/2 ounce fresh orange juice. Feel free to use regular or pulp free based on personal preference.

Half & half – I added 1/2 ounce of half & half to gives this drink its creamy consistency. Half & half is essentially half milk, half heavy cream and can be found in the dairy aisle.

how to make an orange creamsicle cocktail

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Fill a cocktail shaker 2/3 full with ice. Adding ice first helps to chill both the shaker and the ingredients while the drink is being made.

Add the vodka, orange liqueur, orange juice, and half & half. Pour the vodka, orange liqueur, orange juice and half & half into the shaker with ice.

Shake. Shake well to chill.

Strain & garnish. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with an orange slice and whipped cream (optional).

what does orange creamsicle taste like?

Orange Creamsicle is a delicious combination of vanilla and orange, made popular by the invention of the creamsicle popsicle in 1905. The creamsicle was invented 11-year-old Frank Epperson, who experimented with putting fruit juice around vanilla ice cream. He called his creation the “epsicle” which later became known as a popsicle, creamsicle, and dreamsicle.
