Shamrock Punch is the ultimate St. Patrick’s Day drink! Made with Midori, pineapple juice, vodka, and seltzer, this punch is fizzy, sweet, and perfectly green.
Make it in a punchbowl or by the pitcherful….and it makes great shots, too.
Any way you sip it, this punch is exactly what your St. Patrick’s Day party needs!
There’s something about green drinks. They’re a little….well….shocking. To be honest, they always make me think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and that retromutagent ooze. What can I say? I grew up with a younger brother….!?!?
But! TMNT aside, when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, green drinks are EVERYTHING. And this Shamrock Punch is exactly the combo you’ve been looking for.
It combines the delicious flavors of Midori liqueur, pineapple juice, vodka, and seltzer for a punch that’s perfectly green, perfectly sweet, and perfectly yummy.
Garnish it with lemons and maraschino cherries for a fun, festive look….or feel free to substitute limes for an additional pop of green. Either way you serve it, this drink is sure to become a new St. Patrick’s Day favorite!
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN THIS RECIPE?
- Vodka
- Squirt soda
- Midori liqueur
- Pineapple juice
- Sliced lemons
- Maraschino cherries
HOW DO YOU MAKE SHAMROCK PUNCH?
- In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine vodka, Squirt, Midori liqueur, and pineapple juice.
- Add sliced lemons and maraschino cherries.
- Serve straight up or over ice.
- Enjoy!
WHAT IS MIDORI?
Midori is a fruity melon liqueur flavored by Japanese muskmelons. The word midori is Japanese for green, and Midori liqueur is known for its bright green color and sweet melon flavor. It’s delicious all on its own or blended with juices, spirits, or other liqueurs.
WHAT CAN YOU SUBSTITUTE FOR VODKA?
If you’re not a vodka fan or don’t have any on hand, I would suggest substituting white rum or Malibu. The Malibu will pair nicely with the pineapple juice and Midori, but it’s important to note that it will add another layer of sweetness to the punch.
WHAT IF YOU WANT THE PUNCH TO BE MORE GREEN?
The best way to make this punch a more vibrant green color is to add a few drops of green food coloring. You could also add more Midori, but that will change the flavor of the punch.
CAN YOU MAKE THIS RECIPE IN ADVANCE?
If you want to make this Shamrock Punch in advance, simply combine the vodka, Midori, and pineapple juice in a pitcher; cover and refrigerate. When you are ready to serve it, add the seltzer, lemon slices, and maraschino cherries.
CAN YOU USE A DIFFERENT KIND OF SODA?
This recipe calls for seltzer, but you could easily replace it with another type. Some suggestions are Squirt, Sprite, 7-Up, Sierra Mist or 50/50. It is important to note that replacing the seltzer with any of these will increase the level of sweetness.
