If you love sweet, fruity cocktails… this Midori Sour is for you! Made with Midori melon-flavored liqueur, vodka, fresh citrus, and a splash of club soda, it’s a simple, delicious drink that’s sure to hit the spot!
Ahhhh… Midori. It’s a drink I have fond memories of from back in day… and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one! There’s something about the bright color that makes it so much fun, and when you add in the delicious melon flavor, there’s nothing else quite like it.
I first discovered Midori when I was waitressing at a local restaurant in college. We all got a “shift drink” at the end of the night, and Midori Sours were one of my go-to requests. They’re sweet and tart and deliciously fruity (you might even say they taste like a Jolly Rancher) and they’re always a hit at parties.
Best of all, they’re easy to make with just a few ingredients… and it you’re looking to make a pitcher of them, I’ve got you covered!
what you’ll need for this midori sour recipe
Midori – Midori is a melon flavored Japanese Liqueur with a distinct bright green color. I used 2 ounces of Midori in this cocktail.
Vodka – I also added 1 ounce vodka to balance out the sweetness of the Midori. (I typically use Tito’s or Wheatley!)
Fresh citrus juice – I added 1/2 ounce each of lemon juice and lime juice. I like using real citrus in this recipe for flavor and balance. (Be sure to use my favorite lemon squeezer to make it easy!)
Club soda – I topped the drink off with club soda for fizz and sweetness control. Feel free to substitute Sprite or any of your favorite lemon-lime sodas.
