Grilled Steak with Herb Truffled Mushrooms – a surprisingly simple, completely delicious dish that’s guaranteed to turn heads! Perfect for Father’s Day, date night, or a weekend cookout with friends, this is the BEST way to enjoy steak…and so easy to prepare!

Well, I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but I think it’s safe to say that Jorden has officially become the favorite parent. Of all our children except {maybe} Myla. Of course, they would never admit it….especially when I’m anywhere in earshot….but when they’re arguing over who gets to do nearly everything with him, it starts to feel pretty clear.
Now, I’m sure some of it can be explained by the fact that I’m home with them so much more….or the fact that I’m the one enforcing homework and chores and piano practice….or the fact that I’m always tying to get work done while they’re around….but the reality is I can’t really blame them. He’s WAY more fun than me! And there’s nothing they love more than having fun with him.
Yep, when Dad’s home, he’s the playmate of choice. And they run him ragged! Puzzles and coloring and wrestling and riding bikes, then soccer and Barbies and Badminton and reading and anything else they can dream up. And he just goes with it. And does it all. Hence, the favorite parent award!
So with Father’s Day right around the corner, it seems necessary that we really celebrate. In a way that’s fitting of the favorite parent: STEAK!!! I recently had a chance to sample the BEST steaks from The Kansas City Steak Company, and let me tell you, my family (and most importantly, Jorden) LOVED them! We got the Big Daddy Combo, which includes 4 T-Bones, 4 Super-Trimmed Filet Mignon Wrapped with Hickory Bacon, and 4 Kansas City Strip Steaks. We’re talking some serious steaks, people! And some serious happiness to go with them.
I decided to grill them (is there any other way in summertime?) and top them with the most amazing herb truffled mushrooms. The end result? Only the most delicious steak EVER….!!! And just in time for Father’s Day.
So what are your Father’s Day plans? Do they involve grilling? Let The Kansas City Steak Company help! Because let’s be honest: every dad wants steak on Father’s Day. And this Grilled Steak with Herb Truffled Mushrooms is simple, delicious, and so special.

My mouth is watering looking at this! You made it so juicy looking!
Dad’s are always the favorite, at least at our house. I am the one who makes them do homework, follow all the rules and do work around the house. Dad comes home and fun! And Dad grills the steak. And my son is a HUGE fan of steak. These looks perfect!
Oh my gosh, that looks absolutely mouth-watering! My husband can’t resist a good steak and that’s always the perfect meal for father’s day!
This looks so tasty! Perfect for summer cookouts for sure.
Cathy, this steak and mushrooms looks incredible…it is cooked to perfection 🙂
Holy heavens! This steak looks amazing! And I get that it’d be perfect Father’s Day gift but this mama would love a box for mother’s day too! Telling my boys now 😉
Oh my goodness! This sounds just like my household. Dad is WAY more fun than Mom. Could be because he just focuses on them and I’m always trying to do ten things at once. We might have to take some pointers from the Dads 🙂 What a fabulous recipe to treat Dad to for Father’s Day!
Those steaks look amazing!! They sound so yummy!
Looks great! Love the mushrooms.
The day in and day out stuff isn’t much fun, so Dad’s are a novelty when they’re home! haha And this steak looks so special Cathy — my husband and boys would be over the moon if I made this!
This is one of John’s favorite meal! On our end, “Papa” is favored over “Nana” so I know what you mean!
This would be a great idea for any special meal …. and dad is waaaaay more fun in our house too!! 😀
