The first time I tried a Green Tea Shot was just recently, on a girls trip to Florida. I was with my best friend and her 22 year old daughter, who ordered us a round of Green Tea Shots because… apparently… Green Tea Shots are having a moment.
And after trying them, I can clearly see why! They’re light and smooth and so easy to drink, and they really do taste like iced green tea. In the most delicious way.
So naturally, as soon as I got back I knew I needed to make them and share them… just in case you’ve been living under a rock like I had been!
Made with a simple combination of Jameson Irish Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, Sour Mix, and Sprite, they’re easy to whip up (no special ingredients or instructions) and perfect for your next party or celebration.
And… they’re also easy to batch in advance! Simply mix equal parts Jameson, Peach Schnapps, and Sour Mix in a large container and refrigerate. When you’re ready to serve, transfer smaller amounts to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake, and strain into shot glasses. Top with Sprite… and you’re all set!

Jameson – Green Tea shots use Irish whiskey as the main liquor, giving them a smooth, slightly sweet base that pairs well with peach and citrus. Jameson is also what gives these shots the perfect green tea color.
Peach Schnapps – Peach Schnapps adds sweet peachy flavor to the shots and pairs well with the other ingredients. Since it’s a strong flavor that can easily overpower other flavors, be careful not to add too much.
Sour Mix – Sour Mix is essentially a citrus blend that can either be store bought or homemade. Sour Mix adds delicious citrus flavor that balances out the Jameson and Schnapps.
Sprite – Finally, a splash of Spite at the end adds a touch more sweetness and the perfect finishing touch. *Note: feel free to omit the Sprite if you prefer.

No, Green Tea Shots are not made with green tea. Rather, they’re made to taste like green tea using a specific combination of ingredients. For extra green tea flavor, feel free to add a splash of iced green tea to the mix!

Combine ingredients over ice. Add the Jameson, Peach Schnapps, and sour mix to a shaker with ice.
Shake & pour. Shake 10-15 minutes to chill. Strain into shot glasses.
Top with Sprite. Top each shot off with a splash of Sprite.
How strong are Green Tea Shots?
Green Tea Shots typically contain 16% – 20% alcohol by volume (ABV), making them a mild to moderately strong shot. By comparison, a shot of straight Jameson or most straight liquors is 40% ABV.
