Berry Cherry Dip combines smooth, velvety cream cheese with a drizzle of honey and an abundance of fresh cherries and blueberries. Delicious served with crackers, and perfect for the 4th of July!
So….the 4th of July is just around the corner, huh? Are you ready?? We’re all set….and looking forward to a day and night filled with good food, good wine, and lots of fun!
Our celebration has definitely become simpler over the years, and thank goodness. We’ve had more than our fair share of 4th of July hoopla – everything from decorating bikes and wagons to arriving at the parade two hours early to secure a seat to dressing the girls in matching outfits to walking in the parade, ourselves. (By the way…..that last one? I am so not a fan!)
No, I prefer to sit back, relax, and enjoy myself on July 4th. I prefer to watch the parade, rather than participate in it. To admire other people’s wagons, rather than decorate our own. And when the parade is over? I prefer to sit back with a glass of wine and soak up the day.
Luckily, we’ve really streamlined our 4th of July plans over the years. We know exactly where to sit at the parade so we only have to arrive a half hour early. We let our kids pick out their own outfits (red, white & blue are encouraged, but not required!). And you definitely won’t find us participating in the parade…..just enjoying it from the sidelines!
As for our post-parade festivities? We’ve learned that simple, delicious food with good friends and family is the way to go. And….of course…..wine!
As for the food, I’m sure there will be grilling involved. And while we’re waiting for the grill to heat up, this Berry Cherry Dip! With just 4 ingredients, it could’t be more simple. A simple, delicious, perfect combination of savory and sweet that pairs well with white OR red, and looks pretty on your table, too!
Happy 4th of July…..enjoy!!
