So am I the only one whose kids are pretty much obsessed with sleepovers? They want them. They love them. I sometimes think they live for them! And you know what? I really can’t blame them.
When I was a kid I remember sleepovers being the ULTIMATE. Like the thing you had to have. If your parents said no to a sleepover, it was sheer devastation. And if they said yes? Well…then you were living on cloud nine. And on those rare occasions when they said yes to a double sleepover? Two in a row? You thought you had died and gone to heaven.
Well, I’m pretty sure my kids feel the same way about sleepovers. And I’m guessing it’s for all the same reasons! The hours of friend time, the staying up too late, the sharing of secrets, the sleeping next to one another, and the fact that sleepovers ALWAYS involve a million and one fun snacks. It’s just part of the deal!
I still remember sleepovers at one friend’s house, in particular. You better believe we covered all the essential bases…and when it came to the snacks, we knew exactly what we were doing. We even had our own “party mix” recipe….and we made it and devoured it every. single. time. It was our thing! And to be honest? It made our sleepovers.

So it’s no wonder that when my kids have sleepovers, they seem to be strongly focused on coming up with their own snack creations. It’s exactly what I was doing at their age! And this Bacon Cheddar Ranch Snack Mix would be absolutely perfect.
Not only because it combines the delicious flavors of bacon, cheese, and ranch, but because it starts with Pirate’s Booty Aged White Cheddar. Which means it has no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. So you can feel better about having your kids devour it at a sleepover!
Of course, this Bacon Cheddar Ranch Snack Mix isn’t just for sleepovers….it’s equally delicious for adults! And since it’s baked (never fried) it’s a better-for-you alternative to some other snacks. Bacon Cheddar Ranch Snack Mix recipe
Bacon Cheddar Ranch Snack Mix
Ingredients
- 1 7 oz. bag Pirate's Booty Aged White Cheddar
- 1 8 oz. package shredded double cheddar cheese
- 2 1 oz. packets dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 3 oz. package bacon pieces
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh chives
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine Pirate's Booty, shredded cheese, ranch dressing mix, and bacon pieces.

Toss until evenly distributed.

Spread mixture on a large rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 300 degrees 12-15 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Remove from oven and transfer to large serving bowl.

Sprinkle with fresh chives.

I was so looking forward to taking these to a Super Bowl Party. I just followed the directions exactly and the puffs are not crunchy anymore after taking them out of the oven and letting them cool. Did anyone else have this problem?

My child isn’t old enough for sleepovers, but I’m not too far off to remember that they were the best! And having this to snack on at a sleepover would have been AMAZING! What a delicious snack mix!
