All the flavors of Chicken Parm… made extra easy with ground chicken! This Ground Chicken Parmesan is made in one pan and ready in just 20 minutes. The perfect dinner for busy weeknights!

When it comes to Italian, there are certain classics we all know and love. And chicken parmesan is definitely one of them. But honestly… there are nights when even a simple dish like chicken parm seems a little too ambitious… am I right?
And it’s nights like those that this Ground Chicken Parmesan is IT. Made in one skillet with no pounding, breading, baking, or frying required… this Skillet Chicken Parmesan has all the flavors you know and love, without all the work!
I kept it extra easy by using store bought sauce, but I would definitely recommend homemade marinara for elevated flavor. I also used shredded mozzarella, but fresh or sliced mozzarella would be so delicious.
Add additional fresh herbs, such as oregano or basil, fresh or canned tomatoes, or even homemade croutons for extra flavor, texture, and pure deliciousness.

what you’ll need for this recipe
Olive oil – I used olive oil for sautéing the ground chicken. I also used a small amount for toasting the panko crumbs. I used extra virgin, but any type will work for this recipe.
Ground chicken – Ground chicken is the main ingredient in this recipe. I used 2 pounds, which is the perfect amount for one jar of marinara sauce.
Seasonings – I added 4 cloves minced garlic, 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the chicken for flavor.
Marinara sauce – I used one jar of marinara sauce. For optimal flavor and texture, I would recommend a chunky sauce. You can also use homemade marinara sauce (since homemade is always best!)
Mozzarella – 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese melts into the sauce, creating a cheesy, gooey skillet that’s so very satisfying. Substitute fresh mozzarella or mozzarella slices if you prefer.
Parmesan – 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan adds an extra layer of delicious flavor. Add additional Parmesan to taste.
Panko crumbs – Toasted panko crumbs give this dish a hint of the crispy breading that’s essential in chicken parm.

Add the cheeses. Sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes, until cheese is melted.
Top with panko crumbs. Top with toasted panko crumbs; garnish with fresh herbs and additional Parmesan cheese.

storing & reheating
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, transfer to a skillet and heat over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with additional cheese (optional) and cover until melted. Remove from heat and garnish as desired.
