These Red, White & Blue Patriotic French Toast Sticks are fun, easy, and delicious….and so perfect for the 4th of July!
If I’m totally honest, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with summer holidays. Namely, the 4th of July. On the one hand, it’s a holiday!!! And I love holidays! Especially ones with parades and fireworks and good food and great weather. It’s the only holiday we can celebrate outside, the only holiday where we actually see our neighbors, the only holiday where completely soaking through your outfit with water balloons and squirt guns is totally appropriate.
And on the other hand, it’s still a holiday. Which means it still kinda feels like work. {Am I the only one?} If I’m honest about it, I feel like summer is supposed to be easy and relaxing and carefree….and throwing a holiday into the mix changes all of that! Because suddenly it’s not just about relaxing, it’s about planning and decorating and making it special. And, come summer, I just don’t always have the energy for that.
Which is why this year I’m committed to keeping it easy! With fun ideas like these Red, White & Blue Patriotic French Toast Sticks. Made with strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, and frozen french toast sticks, they literally couldn’t be easier. Or cuter. Or more perfect for the 4th of July!
And honestly? My kids will love them so much more than anything else I could possibly make. Because kids love cute food….especially when it also happens to be delicious. And I love the fact that they’re fortified with 8 vitamins in minerals! And when they’re ready in under 10 minutes, it actually doesn’t feel like work at all. Which means I can enjoy my 4th of July….because, after all, it IS a holiday!
