I realize this is the second week in a row I’m posting a recipe for coffee creamer…..and I don’t know whether I should apologize (to those of you who don’t drink coffee), hang my head in shame (for exposing myself as the true coffee addict I am), or just say, “you’re welcome” (because this recipe is seriously delicious)!
Maybe I’ll say a little bit about all three, just to cover my bases. First, to those of you who don’t drink coffee. I’m sorry. Really, I am. Not just for posting a recipe that is useless to you…..but for the fact that I can’t imagine my mornings without coffee! At the risk of sounding overly dramatic…..I really feel like the promise of coffee is enough to get me out of bed some mornings! I’m sure if you don’t drink it, you find other things to get you out of bed….but right now that’s hard for me to imagine. Just sayin’…..
Second, to the fact that I might be exposing an addiction for all the world to see. Well…I’m going on 5 months of getting up 3-4 times a night with a newborn. Coffee helps with that. Not to mention the fact that we’re working with very small windows of time during the day (in between naps), and enjoying my morning coffee reminds me of life outside of my home. When I used to grab a coffee on my way to work, or meet friends for coffee after work, or spend the afternoon in a coffee shop, just because I could. Coffee brings me back.
Third, to those of you who are coffee lovers like me. This creamer is amazing. It tastes like breakfast. Think pancakes with warm maple syrup. Think cinnamon rolls, fresh out of the oven. And, of course, think coffee. Best of all, you need just three simple ingredients to make it a reality. You’re welcome.
- 1 c. half and half
- 1/4 c. pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Combine all ingredients in a glass jar and shake well to mix.
- Shake before each use.
