Sauteed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces mushrooms
  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh minced thyme

Instructions

  • Trim and clean the mushrooms.
  • In a medium skillet, heat butter & olive oil over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper. Sauté over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring regularly, until tender. *Be sure to keep the heat low to avoid burning the garlic.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme.

Notes

Recipe Variations

  • Use any type of mushrooms or a combination of different types
  • Substitute grapeseed or avocado oil for olive oil
  • Double the butter and omit the olive oil
  • Slice the mushrooms before sauteeing
  • Add a splash of white wine or lemon juice to the pan while cooking
  • Garnish with parsley, chives, or any of your favorite fresh herbs
