Mojito

The Mojito is a traditional Cuban cocktail that that will make you think of warm weather, sunshine, and relaxing days at the beach. It's a refreshing combination of white rum, citrus, and mint, with just the right amount of sweetness. The perfect summer cocktail!

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 2 tsp. superfine sugar
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • club soda
  • lime wedge & fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

  • Pour lime juice into a highball glass. Add sugar and stir to dissolve.
  • Slap mint gently between your hands, then add to glass.
  • Add ice, then add rum and a splash of club soda.
  • Top with additional ice; garnish with lime wedge and fresh mint.

Notes

Recipe variations:
  • Muddle fresh berries, pineapple, or watermelon with the mint
  • Substitute fresh basil for the fresh mint
  • Use lemon juice, grapefruit juice, or pineapple juice in place of lime juice
  • Replace sugar with simple syrup
  • Omit sugar and use Sprite in place of club soda
  • Blend ingredients for a frozen mojito
