Ingredients
8
cups
peeled
chopped apples
4
cups
fresh or frozen strawberries
1/2
cup
water
or 1 cup for thinner consistency
1/2
cup
granulated sugar
1
teaspoon
cinnamon
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or until fruit is soft and you are able to mash it with a potato masher.
Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Transfer applesauce to a blender and blend until smooth.

Recipe Variations
Use any variety or combination of apples
Use a combination of apples and pears
Use a combination of berries, including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and/or blueberries
Omit the sugar for a less sweet applesauce
Substitute honey or agave for the sugar
Substitute apple juice or white grape juice for the water
Substitute apple pie spice for the cinnamon
Add a squeeze of lemon juice
Leave the skins on the apples for texture and flavor
Use a potato masher instead of a blender for a chunky texture
