Ingredients

  • 6 eggs large
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 slices bread thick cut
  • 3/4 cup butter room temperature
  • 3 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large shallow bowl, combine eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk well.
  2. Heat the skillet to 325°. Add 4 Tablespoons salted butter and heat until melted and lightly browned. The butter should coat the entire skillet.
  3. Dip each piece of bread in the egg mixture on both sides, then place on the skillet. Coat the top side of the bread with cinnamon, about 1/2 teaspoon per slice. Cook until golden brown on the bottom.
  4. Flip the bread and coat each piece with another 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  5. Add 1 Tablespoon butter to each piece and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook until golden brown and remove from skillet.
