Ingredients

  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1 ounce cucumber juice
  • 1 Tablespoon triple sec
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the cucumber into large pieces. In a food processor or blender, purée the cucumber until smooth. Using a fine mesh strainer over a measuring cup or bowl, pour the cucumber purée into the strainer and use a spoon to push the excess liquid through. (*1/2 English cucumber will yield about 1/3 cup of juice.)
  • Combine the ingredients. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, cucumber juice, and simple syrup. Shake well.
  • Prepare the glass. Rub the rim of a glass with simple syrup and dip it in coarse salt or sugar. Pour the margarita into the glass.
  • Garnish. Garnish with a cucumber slice or fresh sliced jalapeños as desired.

Notes

Recipe Variations

  • Use any kind of tequila in place of silver
  • Use jalapeño simple syrup for a spicy kick
  • Substitute Monin Cucumber Syrup for the fresh cucumber juice (*omit simple syrup)
  • Use Cointreau or Grand Marnier in place of Triple Sec
  • Add more cucumber juice for a more pronounced cucumber flavor
