Chicken a la King

Chicken a la King is the ultimate comfort food. This classic recipe combines tender chicken with mushrooms and peppers in a rich, creamy sauce... and it's absolutely delicious! Ingredients

  • 1 stick 1/2 c. salted butter
  • 3/4 c. onion diced
  • 3/4 c. red pepper diced
  • 8 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chicken broth
  • 2 c. milk
  • 4 c. chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add diced onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Saute until tender-crisp.
  • Stir in flour and salt, cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Slowly add in the chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens (8-12 minutes).
  • Stir in chicken.
  • Spoon over prepared biscuits; season with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley as desired.
