  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • oil for frying

For the sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2-3 tablespoons sriracha sauce adjust according to your preference
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For garnish

  • toasted sesame seeds
  • fresh parsley or sliced green onions

Instructions

  2. Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet to 375° F. While the oil is heating, prepare your shrimp.

  5. Add the coated shrimp to the hot oil and fry for 30 seconds - 1 minute on each side. Remove from oil to a plate lined with paper towels.
  6. Once all the shrimp has been fried, toss it in the sauce until coated. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and parsley or green onions as desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Recipe variations:
  • Coat the shrimp in panko bread crumbs instead of corn starch
  • Add additional seasonings to the corn starch, such as onion powder, paprika, or cayenne pepper
  • Adjust the sauce ingredient amounts according to your tastes. For a creamier sauce, add more mayo. For a spicier sauce, add more sriracha. For a sweeter sauce, add more chili sauce or honey.
  • Add a squirt of lime juice to the sauce
  • For a quick and easy dinner, substitute frozen breaded shrimp and just make the sauce
