In a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet to 375° F. While the oil is heating, prepare your shrimp.
Place the peeled & deveined shrimp in a medium bowl. Pour buttermilk over the shrimp to cover it.
In a second bowl, combine the cornstarch, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Dip the shrimp one at a time in the cornstarch mixture to coat. Place on wax paper.
Add the coated shrimp to the hot oil and fry for 30 seconds - 1 minute on each side. Remove from oil to a plate lined with paper towels.
Once all the shrimp has been fried, toss it in the sauce until coated. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and parsley or green onions as desired. Enjoy!
