Peel, core and slice 2 cups of apples and 2 cups of pears into thin slices. Transfer them to an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Spread the fruit out evenly, sprinkle with apple pie spice, and toss to coat.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, oats, and melted butter. Using a fork, mix until large crumbs form. Sprinkle evenly over the fruit.
