Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 8 ounces pizza sauce
  • 3 cups shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Cut the loaf of bread in half cross-wise. Slice off the top of each half and scoop out center of the bread, leaving approximately 1/2 inch around the edges.
  • Spread the pizza sauce inside the hollowed out bread. Fill with cheese.
  • Top with pepperoni slices and seasonings. Bake at 400° F for 10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
  • Remove from oven and garnish with additional seasonings as desired.

Notes

Recipe Variations

  • Substitute cooked, crumbled Italian sausage for the pepperoni
  • Add any of your favorite veggies, such as tomatoes, mushrooms or bell peppers
  • Add sliced black or green olives
  • Use any type of shredded cheese
  • Top with grated parmesan or crushed red pepper flakes
  • Make mini versions using sub rolls
