Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage browned, drained, and crumbled
  • 10 large eggs beaten
  • 4 cups dry bread cubes
  • 3 1/4 cups milk
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried mustard

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until center is set.

Notes

Recipe Variations

  • Substitute turkey sausage, chicken sausage, or cooked bacon
  • Use any type of shredded cheese, such as mozzarella, swiss, or cheddar jack
  • Use croissants instead of regular bread
  • Add sautéed vegetables, such as onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers
  • Add chopped jalapeños for a spicy kick
  • Add additional seasonings, such as garlic powder or onion powder
  • Top with fresh chives or parsley
