  • 1 Tablespoon fresh herbs finely minced, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt OR kosher salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Slice the bread on a diagonal, about 1/4 inch per slice. Arrange in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, salt, pepper, and herbs. Brush each slice of bread with seasoned oil, dividing evenly.
  • Bake at 375°F. for 12-15 minutes or longer, according to desired crispiness.
  • *Alternately, brush with olive oil first and then sprinkle with fresh minced herbs, salt and pepper.

Notes

Recipe Variations

  • Use any type of baguette
  • Substitute flavored olive oil for regular
  • Use melted butter instead of oil
  • Add finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Use any fresh herbs or omit them altogether
  • Add any seasonings of your choice
  • Add cinnamon + sugar to melted butter for a sweet variation
  • Slice to desired thickness and bake to desired crispiness

Storage Tips

Crostini can be stored in a covered container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
