Candied Acorn Squash

Ingredients

  • 1 medium acorn squash
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoon chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Cut acorn squash in half lengthwise; remove seeds and scrap clean.
  2. Fill each half with 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts.
  3. Place squash halves in a shallow baking dish and fill with enough water to cover the bottom of the dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake at 450 degrees 45 - 60 minutes or until fork tender.
