Puree 3 c. frozen cherries in a blender; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.
In a separate [cold] mixing bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
Fold in sweetened condensed milk, then gently fold in pureed cherries.
Pour mixture into loaf pan; add remaining whole cherries.
Press wax paper against the surface of the ice cream; freeze until solid.
