Well…the nursery makeover is complete! And let me just say I could not be happier with the results. We went from a nondescript yellow…to a bright, bold green…all with the help of the Sherwin-Williams ColorSnap® app! Take a look at the before and after!
It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do for a room, isn’t it? Especially when you choose the right color! And, since choosing the right color is not something that comes naturally to me, I was grateful to have a little help. There’s nothing worse than putting paint on one or two walls, only to discover you don’t actually love the color or the color doesn’t actually match the rest of the room. Since I was matching it to a bedding set, it was especially important to get the color “just right”…and we nailed it!
Painting day felt like a breeze without needing to make extra trips to the paint store, and according to the painters (Jorden and my dad) the HGTV HOME™ by Sherwin-Williams paint was awesome! It went on smoothly and evenly, and they were able to easily finish the entire room with just one can of paint. I don’t know about you, but around here that is almost unheard of.
Of course, as exciting as it was for them, the real excitement for me came in the decorating! I had a blast picking out all the accessories and finishing touches for the room, everything from curtains to a rug to coordinating fabric bins to wall decor. For all the same reasons that it’s important to me to give each new baby her own special nursery, it’s important to me to get the details just right.
I had a lot to work with (owls, birds AND elephants on the bedding?!) and a lot of colors to coordinate. With the bright green walls, I was able to focus on the other colors in the bedding set for the accessories. I went with mostly pinks and purples, with a few other colors thrown in…just to keep things interesting.
My favorite finds?? This fabulous purple and white rug…and the “Dream Big Little One” wall art. But I love it all, and I love the way it all came together with the help of Sherwin-Williams. I am so excited to welcome our new little one into the world…and so happy that her nursery is ready and waiting for her!

Oh my – I soooooo love that color!! Turned out adorable!!!
Congrats!!! Been following on IG – I’m so excited for you!
Since we will be moving into our brand new house at the end of the month- each room is a blank canvas – I have a lot of painting in my future. Will probably start with the smaller rooms & go from there.

Thanks so much, Gina! All is going well with little Myla…..she is finally starting to sleep in her bedroom which is AMAZING!! Good luck with your move…..sounds both exciting and exhausting! Hope all goes well! 🙂

The nursery looks awesome! So fresh and clean! The next room we’ll be painting is our master bedroom! It’s the only room we haven’t yet touched since we moved in! It NEEDS some love!
🙂
Cathy Trochelman says
Thanks, Meaghan! And…..your house is so adorable….no one would even notice whether you’ve touched a room or not!!

The nursery is so cute. I’m in love with the “Dream Big Little One” print too. It would be perfect for my niece’s new room. Where did you get it?
If I won the gift card, I’d transform our master bathroom – it’s all white and needs some color.
Thank you!

This turned out just beautiful!! you guys did a GREAT job of matching the green to the bedding, and that color is just so bright and happy for a nursery! I would totally makeover my kitchen!! it needs repainted badly, as we chose the WRONG color, and it s now PURPLE!! dont as what I was thinking…. it is just so wrong! I wish I had known about the ColorSnap tool, when we were picking a color….

What a bright and fun room! I wish I had that design flair.
I would paint my upstairs bathroom, the colors are too dark for the space so I would like to paint it a pale green
Amy S says
Our master bathroom for sure! It really needs a new coat of paint…the pale green in there is so boring!
