‘Orchata Coladas combine the classic flavors of piña coladas with sweet Cinnamon Cream Rum in a drink that’s creamy, delicious, and perfect for summer!
Way back, many moons ago, my brother got married in Mexico. At an all-inclusive resort near Cozumel. And, naturally, my whole family went. Except for the husbands. Meaning that I spent a weekend at an all-inclusive resort without Jorden. And let me tell you…..he has not forgotten.
Now, Jorden has never been to an all-inclusive, but he knows enough about them to know that he’d love them. Sun, sand, relaxation…..all the delicious food you can handle….and, of course, free drinks. All day, every day. At swim-up bars!
So I spent the weekend having the time of my life, free of responsibility and concerned only with enjoying myself….and keeping up with my brother’s friends….while Jorden stayed home with our two kids, who were then 2 and 8 months. He definitely took one for the team, and somewhere in the back of my mind, I know that a trip to an all-inclusive resort needs to be in his future.
Given the current state of our lives, I’m not exactly sure when that will be possible….so until then, I’m committed to making delicious drinks that are completely resort-worthy. We may be missing the sand, and the sun, and the relaxation….but at least we can have the yummy drinks, right? Starting with Chila ‘Orchata Cinnamon Cream Rum. If you’ve never tried it, you simply must! It’s made with Puerto Rican rum, real dairy cream, Tahitian vanilla, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It tastes like a cinnamon roll in a glass, and even though it’s delicious all on its own, I love mixing it into my favorite drinks!
These ‘Orchata Coladas are sweet and creamy, with the classic, refreshing combo of pineapple and coconut and a surprising twist of cinnamon. They’re shaken, not blended, and can be served on the rocks or all on their own. Either way, they’re destined to become a new summer favorite….no resort necessary!
